Unscripted by design

Most of your day will happen without direction, so we photograph it that way. Close when it counts. Out of sight when the moment is yours. The portraits are the only part that's staged, and even those keep moving so they feel like something you lived rather than something you posed for.

The day

The day starts before it has decided what it will be. We move through it quietly, close when it counts and unseen when the room belongs to you. Plans shift on a wedding day; keeping that shift invisible is most of the work.

The small things

Everything chosen on purpose gets kept on purpose: the rings, the letters, the borrowed, the red.

Portraits

Your wedding isn't spent posing. We direct in motion, never stiff, so most couples loosen within the first fifteen minutes. Those who'd rather stay close to their guests need only twenty minutes during cocktail hour.

The people

Some frames are planned. The best ones happen while everyone forgets the camera is in the room.

The party

Later, once the vows are kept and the formalities have burned away, the night loosens into something no timeline can hold. It is the least composed hour and the most worth keeping, the room at full volume, everyone finally and entirely themselves.

The unexpected

Not every frame is planned. Sometimes a horse at the fence line becomes the one everyone remembers.

The toasts

Somebody always cries. It is never who they predicted.

The practical

The unglamorous things, promised plainly. Your full gallery is in your hands within three to four weeks, depending on the season. A second photographer when the day runs in two directions at once. Three cameras, doubled cards, every frame backed up before the night is over, so nothing you lived is ever left to chance.

Afterward

"We had a blast." "Wonderful from start to finish." "We can't stop looking at the photos."

The line that keeps returning in the notes couples send: it felt easy. Comfort has a way of showing up in the pictures. The rest is craft, and answering quickly.

The quiet after

When the room finally empties, what stays is how it felt.

On first looks

A first look buys a calmer timeline and a cocktail hour spent with your guests. Skipping it keeps the reveal at the aisle. Both are right answers, and an easy one to settle together on the consultation call.

On planners

Book at least a month-of coordinator. The day itself is too late to learn a wedding, and without one the vendors end up planning it live. Coordination with yours is handled directly.

On phones

An unplugged ceremony protects the photographs. Guests stay in the moment, the aisle stays clear, and a friend with a Polaroid at the first dance is always welcome.

On light

Dark venue, hard flash, a tent lit only by candles. Good. Some couples book for exactly that, and where the light is not, it can be built.

Ethan was an amazing photographer at our wedding celebration. He was attentive, in tune, and professional. He felt like one of our friends or family and made everyone feel so comfortable-even for those who are not used to having their picture taken. He gave great cues and captured all the candies we wanted. He was always there ready to shoot when we wanted a photo. He got so many great shots within our four hour event and delivered them back to us in about 48 hours-which is unheard of for event photographers! We loved his vintage style and all of our photos were better than we could have imagined-even in a low light setting. Ethan is also extremely affordable compared to many other event/wedding photographers in the DMV, which was important for us. I would highly recommend hiring Ethan to take any important photos you may want or for your next event. We would gladly hire him again!

I've had the pleasure of working with Ethan as a wedding videographer. He's truly one of those rare photographers who brings both style and substance, has an incredible instinct for capturing genuine moments, and great great taste in post-editing. Beyond the work, Ethan brings joyful energy that lights up a room and puts couples at ease. Just a genuinely nice person and a joy to collaborate with.

Ethan is a true PROFESSIONAL. We've never gotten a professional photo done before, so when we started posing, we felt very awkward, but you wouldn't be able to tell from these photos. Ethan made us look AND also feel amazing as we took photos as the natural hype man and he kept that energy up for hours into the reception. He was flexible even when our ceremony was pushed an hour back due to unforeseen traffic in DC and still made sure that we got all the important shots at a wedding venue that had cultural significance for me. We had several friends and family members asking where we had found the photographer, because his energy was truly addictive and everyone loved how he made others feel really good during the event. Make sure you have Ethan as part of your day-you will feel amazing AND leave with amazing and authentic photos.

We were 10 months out before our wedding and Ethan Wong was one of the first vendors who provided a professional, courteous response to our inquiry. Extremely professional and amazing to work with from the planning stage, all the way to the finale of our wedding! He is someone that any bride/groom should hire for their special day. I trusted him from our first zoom call and everyone in our wedding party, my family and ALL our guests were delighted to have him as our photographer to our wedding. He is not only a vendor to our wedding but welcomed him as a family just because he is AWESOME!!!! Every bride and groom should have Ethan do their wedding photography and capture every moments! When someone says... "Picture says a thousand words"... Ethan definitely delivered that! Thank you so much Ethan!

Working with Ethan is always such a pleasure for me and my team. As a DC planner, I truly value vendors who are fun, communicative, and deeply respectful of the timeline and overall flow of the day. Ethan is an incredibly talented creative that brings a thoughtful presence to wedding days, blending in seamlessly while still capturing it beautifully. From a planner's standpoint, he's collaborative with the full vendor team, and clearly prioritizes both the couple's experience and the integrity of the event. Beyond that, his work speaks for itself; timeless, evocative, and full of feeling. I would happily recommend Ethan to couples and fellow vendors alike and always look forward to working together again.

Ethan was honestly such a joy to work with! Super easygoing, great with communication, and just made the whole process feel effortless. He has such a calming presence but also kept things fun, which was exactly what we needed. Our venue had some weird lighting, and I was kinda worried about how the photos would turn out, but wow... they came out STUNNING. Like, way beyond what I even imagined.
