A Maryland and Virginia wedding photographer, documentary at heart
I photograph weddings across Maryland and Virginia the way they actually move, from a garden ceremony in the morning light to the last blur of the dance floor. The work is film-inspired and documentary at heart, quiet in the room and warm in tone, made for couples who want the feeling of the day back rather than a folder of poses.
From estate lawns to Virginia wine country
Maryland and Virginia give a wedding day room to breathe, and no two of these settings ask for the same eye. I have followed couples down the aisle of a stone manor with the Blue Ridge softening behind it, through the long afternoon light of a Loudoun vineyard, across garden terraces heavy with June, and out onto Chesapeake waterfronts where the sky does most of the work at golden hour. Whether your day sits an hour outside the city or deep in the countryside past Middleburg, I arrive early, learn the space, and let the land and the light shape how the photographs feel before I ever raise the camera.
Unposed, and film-inspired in tone
I work quietly. The held breath before the doors open, your father's face, the cousins who cannot stop laughing near the bar, all of it happens whether or not a camera is pointed at it, and my job is to be close for it without steering it. The look is film-inspired, a little moody and unhurried, built to age like something you keep on a shelf rather than something tied to this one year. Portraits are the single part I actually guide, and even then I keep you moving, so the frames read like a moment you lived instead of a pose you had to hold.
One photographer for the whole DMV
Maryland and Virginia are home ground for me, and I travel the wider DC metro and well beyond it, from Annapolis and the Eastern Shore to Northern Virginia and the foothills. When a celebration runs in two directions at once, a second photographer joins me. Everything is shot on redundant cameras and backed up before the night is over, and your full gallery lands in your hands within a few weeks. If your date is still open, I would love to hear where across the DMV you are getting married.
